Job Description

With more than 125 years of experience, Allianz Versicherungs-AG is the number one in property and casualty insurance in Germany. A core strategic initiative of our company is the establishment of Advanced Analytics. The Advanced Analytics Claims unit in the Chief Data Office area in the Property Operations department aims to make claims processing more effective and efficient using modern analytical methods and tools.

We are a young, highly motivated team and offer you, as a senior data scientist, the opportunity to help shape the topic of advanced analytics in an innovative way with us right from the start.

tasks

• Development of innovative holistic solutions for collecting, modelling, analyzing and visualizing data
• Independent creation of forecast models and support for the implementation of these models in the existing processes
• Use of state-of-the-art methods for data analysis and modeling (especially from the areas of machine learning, statistics, data mining and NLP)
• Independent management of data projects and coordination with the requirements of various stakeholders
• Communication of the results obtained to the management
• Cross-interface and close cooperation with various partners (operative claims units, claims department, actuary, Allianz SE, international property insurance units of the Allianz Group, etc.)

requirements

• Very good university degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, physics or data science; gladly with promotion
• 5 to 10 years of relevant practical experience in the field of data science, machine learning or advanced analytics
• Very good theoretical and practical knowledge in the application of statistical and machine learning methods
• Experience in the conception and implementation of data projects up to the go-live
• Experience in working with large databases, especially in dealing with relational databases
• Experience in data preparation, analysis, modeling and visualization
• Experience in text analytics
• Very good knowledge of Python and/or R and SQL, PySpark an advantage
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Independent, pragmatic and results-oriented way of working
• High ability to learn and change, commitment and resilience
• Experience in the insurance industry and especially in the claims area is an advantage
• Very good knowledge of German and English
