We, the BMW Group, offer you an exciting and varied internship in the field of research and development in the Augmented Reality Glasses project.

What awaits you?

• As part of the internship, you will work in our team in the areas of computer vision and deep learning.
• During your internship you will support us in various areas in the context of augmented reality glasses, including tasks related to computer vision and deep learning:
• Implement cutting-edge 6-DoF object pose estimation algorithms.
• Support in the creation of (synthetic) data sets for training neural networks.
• Optimization of existing computer vision algorithms in terms of inference time and resource requirements.
• You will get an insight into new technologies and how they are integrated into the research and development of the BMW Group.
• You will also accompany us in identifying use cases in the augmented reality area.
• You can also show your creativity and implement ideas on your own. You can use graphics frameworks and corresponding development environments for this purpose.
• On the part of the specialist department, the writing of a thesis after the internship is desired and supported.

what do you bring

• Studies in computer science, information science, electrical engineering, robotics or a comparable course.
• Sound programming experience in Python.
• First practical experience in the field of machine learning and/or deep learning (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Affinity for image processing, artificial intelligence and the development of algorithms.
• Knowledge of synthetic data generation is an advantage.
• Team and communication skills.
• Analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
