To take our operations to the next level, the BMW Groups – Delivery Assurance department is looking for a Data science intern to contribute to the Think Tank of BMW Group and continue BMW’s leadership in supply chain management. The goal of the Think Tank will be to research emerging technologies including Data Science (ML, AI, BI etc.)

• As an intern you will be part of the BMW Supply Chain Digitalization Working Circle, a global network of supply chain and data science experts deploying and sharing digital solutions at the BMW Group.

• We will create a constant knowledge feed to BMW Management on trends and possibilities for growth in the data science space.

• You will present your results directly to BMW management and have contact with various leaders and bright minds across the business.
• Integrate software components, third-party programs and verify and deploy programs and systems.
• Hands on to latest technological advancements in the field of data science
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software and create technical documentation for reference and reporting.
• As a part of our team, we will tackle solutions in-house and find opportunities to create immediate value by building advanced solutions.
• You will act as a consultant recommending the latest trends in the Data Science field and work with other top consultancies to help build in-house competence.

What should you bring along

• Currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics or Data Science. (Master’s Degree preferred)
• Experience in Python for AI-/ Analytics-libraries such as Scikit, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy will be an advantage.
• Knowledge in Data Engineering (Spark/SQL): Understanding of different data visualizations tools for i.e., AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, Foundry by Palantir etc.
• Proven experience as a Data Scientist, Software Developer, Software Engineer,or in a similar role.
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment.
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems (e.g., AngularJS, Git).
• Knowledge in areas Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Cloud-Architecture (i.e., AWS, Azure, Impact/Foundry).
• Ability to develop web-based solutions from complex data analysis.
• You should be a self-starter, who likes to take initiatives and bring in creative ideas.
• A sharp intellect to grasp complex systems and problems.
• Experience with automotive industry, agile software development is a plus, but not necessary.
