In the product AI Products of the IT department Data Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, we gain information from various data sources together with our business departments so that processes can be optimized on this basis, user experience can be increased and new products and services can be developed. Our goal is to use innovative solutions and products based on machine learning or deep learning to generate sustainable potential and new added value.

What awaits you?

• As an AI Software Engineer, you support the development and operations of AI products and services in the area of NLP, computer vision or other ML/DL application areas.
• Together with a motivated, international team of AI experts, software and cloud engineers, you implement prototypes as well as productive applications.
• In particular we are seeking your experience in the application of deep learning methods (e.g. embeddings, transformers, CNNs, autoencoders, encoder-decoders, ...) for NLP or CV.
• For the successful realization of the requirements, you also work proactively with BMW IT departments and specialist departments.
• You support the evaluation of new AI methods and tools. The team is always open to your innovative ideas and motivates you to test them.

What should you bring along?

• University degree in computer science, business informatics, computational linguistics or a comparable qualification.
• Work experience in an area of artificial intelligence and machine learning (e.g. NLP, Computer Vision, Acoustics Analytics).
• Methodological knowledge from the fields of NLP (e.g. syntactic analysis, named entity recognition, text and relation classification, text clustering, embeddings, transformer-based approaches) or computer vision (segmentation, classification, synthetic data, SOTA deep learning methods such as CNNs or GANs).
• Familiarity with the programming languages Python and Java or Scala, and with Native Cloudservices (especially on AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of modern, service-oriented and container-based architectures, e.g. based on Kubernetes.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana and CI/CD (e.g. Github, Bitbucket, AWS Codepipeline, Azure DevOps).
• Ideally knowledge of frontend technologies (e.g. Angular, React).
• Knowledge of agile methods.
• Business fluent in German and English.
