Together with a team of quality experts, you will examine optimal solutions for automated quality control in the production environment of mechanical manufacturing technology drive in the field of computer vision.

What awaits you?

  • Use of state-of-the-art anomaly detection methods to detect defects on mechanically processed drive components.
  • Development of training strategies for ongoing optimization of anomaly detection methods during operation.
  • Development of suitable model metrics for the investigation and assessment of the potential of computer vision methods with regard to real requirements and influences from the production environment.
  • Deep insights into the quality control and production system of machined drive components at BMW.

what do you bring

  • Studies in the field of mathematics, computer science, data science, production technology, engineering or comparable courses.
  • Programming experience in Python and libraries like Pytorch, OpenCV, Scikit, etc.
  • Practical experience in computer vision projects (image pre-processing, segmentation and object/error detection).
  • Knowledge of industrial image processing, quality control and/or optical sensors is an advantage.
  • A high degree of self-organization, willingness to learn and initiative.
  • Analytical thinking, teamwork and communication skills.
  • Fluent German & English skills.
