Job Description

The Data Analyst Co-op acts as an intermediary between business users, data engineers, data scientists, and IT teams. They are instrumental in gathering business requirements. They translate the business requirements into more technical requirements such as data source development and visualization development. There will be ample opportunities to learn domain data and describe to stakeholders what is and is not available.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

• Partner with stakeholders across the enterprise about how to build and better leverage existing data products to help improve seed production. We expect this role to challenge the teams responsible for creating enterprise data and quality policies that will evolve as we become a data-driven Global Product Supply
• Establish and maintain consistent global data definitions, ensure integrity of data and monitoring overall quality of data per established policies; ensure high standards of data quality, availability and privacy
• Deliver standardized solutions that are more automated, repeatable and globally integrated
• Accelerate the data maturity of the business data tools to ensure compliance with the Bayer digital transformation strategy
• Develop data governance roadmaps, evaluating current and future capabilities, and provide recommendations to data product stakeholders for promoting broader usage/adoption
• Supports ad hoc data reporting requests which may require combining data from various sources
• Implement and utilize data solutions for data analysis, profiling and business intelligence using a variety of enterprise tools and following team’s established processes and methodologies.
• Ensure consistent and rapid communication of opportunities within SPI and business functions across related efforts, projects, and teams to promote a culture of continuous improvement from leveraging data assets, quality standards, and enterprise policies.
• Document as-is business process and the relevant data workflow flows.
• Leverage domain knowledge to lead business stakeholders through process and solution changes to ensure higher quality of information and alignment with IT solutions
• Ability to influence, collaborate and promote usage of innovative data solutions across regions

Required Qualifications:

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in computer science, engineering, biochemistry, genetics, computational biology, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and to communicate effectively complex issues and ideas with clarity, and implications to IT/business strategy and value.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with an interest in gathering and understanding comprehensive business requirements.
• Demonstrated experience defining and documenting business workflows, change management procedures, and data quality processes.
• Ability to communicate complex issues and ideas with clarity.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to effectively network across IT and business functions to leverage influence and drive strategic initiatives
• Ability to self-manage workload
