Job Description

The primary responsibilities of this role, Data Science Intern, are to:

• Explore, munge, and model large and diverse datasets;
• Be able to analyze existing decision data to provide insights into the factors that drive decisions;
• Design and prototype models using diverse techniques that include, but are not limited to, AI, deep learning, machine learning, data mining, and statistical modeling;
• Utilize analytical and data science techniques to generate weights of decision factors for scoring evaluation criteria;
• Follow best practices for model development, code version control, and documentation processes;
• Build cross-functional relationships to partner with the business and effectively network within the Bayer Crop Science Research and Development organization.

Required qualifications:

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. candidate in Data Science, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics;
• Educational preparation or applied experience in at least one of the following areas: Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Amazon Web Services, or other Cloud Platforms;
• Proficiency in applied programming and/or manipulation of data with a programing language such as Python, R, and SQL;
• Sufficient experience on transfer learning and making ML models work with limited data;
• Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and ambiguous situations;
• High ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks;
• Demonstrated ability to contribute to an international and dynamic research and development team.
