Job Description

By leading a team in the Process Operations within Shared Service Centre Gdansk, the Team Leader is responsible for organization effectiveness and sustainability by providing leadership and motivation to deliver seamless and efficient process and tactical operational measurements.

The Team Leader participates and supports activities relating to Data Analytics activities and contributes to the success of the GFI Data Analytics Workstream globally by supporting and empowering team members’ work delivery.

In addition to leading a team of Data Analytics Experts the Team Leader also works as a senior expert for the group finance data analytics processes and is responsible for delivery of his/her own specific functional tasks, process improvements and transformational projects.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Manages and leads respective team, including employee development, performance management and instilling LIFE values
• Coordinates clarification of business requirements or process changes deemed necessary to improve efficiency, accuracy and reduce complexity
• Initiates and drives process improvement and transformational projects by gathering business requirements and converting them into actionable tasks
• Provides data analysis expertise and recommendations to the Bayer group in reporting
• Responsible for collaboration within the GFI Data Analytics Team, building tools and services to ensure positive user experience across the data supply chain
• Provides tools and services to automate, scale, and deploy data analytics reports for the GFI
• Builds analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
• Works with divisional analytics users and data scientists to assist with analytics-related technical issues and support their analytics infrastructure needs (e.g. FA or MA Data Experts)
• Continuously learns and challenges the results through new techniques and experimental approaches and promotes talent development by creating environment conducive to learning

Who you are:

• Master’s degree in economics or informatics/econometrics with focus on finance, business intelligence or equivalent studies with 4+ years of relevant experience
• Process, project, and team management experience
• Strong expertise in SQL, Statistical programming (R / Python)
• Proven experience with Business Intelligence tools like SAP BW, SAP Hana, Tableau (preferred) or Power BI desirable
• Solid understanding of multidimensional data models, such as star schemas, snowflakes, de-normalized models
• Good business and IT skills to translate business requirements into data structures and reports
• Good knowledge of SAP data structures in R2R
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret reports, identify the added value of the reports generated and guide users through next steps
• Excellent English skills encompassing special terminology in Finance & Accounting and IT (English level C1)
• Ability to lead virtual/remote teams incl. good command of online collaboration tools such as MS Teams. Solid understanding of automation technologies (e.g., Power Automate, RPA)
• Good presentation and communication skills, working with virtual and global teams
• Willingness to travel up to 30% or as projects dictate
