YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Trait Integration Data Solutions Engineer, are to:

  • Execute limited scope software and automation projects to support new strategy modeling, planning at a high level, communicating across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders, developing delivery scope & implementation targets, and feeding project needs into business portfolios to enable appropriate cross-team resource allocation;
  • Lead a technical, hands-on role that coordinates the evaluation of implementation readiness for one or more developing projects;
  • Foster strong collaborative relationships with field testing, data science, engineering, molecular breeding, logistics, trait integration, product development, and regulatory organizations to deliver a robust product pipeline;
  • Ensure meaningful knowledge and data transfer during transition points per crop cycle timelines;
  • Identify key areas of opportunity for new technology implementation and/or process improvement, while positively contributing to a collaborative, innovative, and design-centric culture;
  • Collaborate on projects/initiatives with partner teams and across world regions (NA, LATAM, EMEA, APAC) as part of Precision Breeding implementation;
  • Ability to operate independently on work assignments with minimal guidance;
  • Be responsible for making decisions that impact business value Supports the Health Safety & Environment, Compliance, Business Conduct and Human Rights policies and culture.
  • The primary location for this role will be Chesterfield, MO. Domestic relocation assistance may be offered for this role.
  • Visa sponsorship may be offered for this role.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in computer science, engineering, science, agriculture, or another related field;
  • Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional and cross-cultural teams to achieve common goals;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply IT and/or business process knowledge to a wide range of situations with varying degrees of complexity;
  • Developed alternative solutions to problems, handles complex problems independently;
  • Computer proficiency, ability to work with large data sets, experience in coding (R or Python), and visualization software applications (Spotfire, Tableau, or similar);
  • Experience with creating/optimizing workflows for data management; 
  • Participates and completes assignments with more than one global business unit or function;
  • Communicates effectively and promptly at all levels of the organization;
  • Anticipates problems of increasing complexity and develops solutions;
  • Able to promote and support a team approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Spotfire and/or Tableau;
  • Experience within an agricultural or life science domain.
