Job Description

Research Engineer - Decision Making - FAIR Labs Responsibilities

  • Develop highly scalable algorithms for measuring privacy leaks, training models with rigorous privacy guarantees and measuring security leaks in large foundation models
  • Collaborate with FAIR scientists on novel research in decision making, system optimization, and/or large language models.
  • Apply knowledge of relevant research domains along with expert coding skills to platform and framework development projects.
  • Define use cases and develop methodology and benchmarks to evaluate different approaches

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2+ years experience with deep learning models, reinforcement learning, and/or large language models
  • Industry experience in machine learning research and deployment
  • Experience developing machine learning algorithms or machine learning infrastructure in Python and PyTorch
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry research experience in decision making, generative AI and LLM research.
  • Publication track record at conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, etc.
  • Experience with leading research projects until publication
  • Experience with distributed systems or on-device algorithm development
  • High performance code and profiling experience
