Job Description

As Language Manager, Japanese, you will be involved in ensuring that we deliver a great user experience to our international audience through high quality translations. As we work closely with team members in offices and regional stakeholders, it is very important that the candidate be comfortable working with teams across different time zones.
Language Manager, Japanese Responsibilities
- Review high visibility product content and documents.
- Performing localization testing to identify linguistic and functional issues.
- Collaborating with Localization Program Management team to drive product or vertical-specific language quality initiatives, support product launches and drive the efforts to ensure end-to-end linguistic quality.
- Collaborating with the Vendor Management team to select translation vendors, drive vendor probation, and support vendors' ramp-up, as necessary.
- Driving or supporting cross-functional and/or team level quality framework at scale.
- Closely monitoring vendor translation quality through our quality framework and managing translation vendors' performance.
- Maintaining the localization glossaries, style guides, and TM, keeping them up to date and audience appropriate.
- Collaborating with source content owners to ensure that language requirements from technical and linguistic perspectives are understood and supported.
- Working closely with product teams and in-country stakeholders to deliver market appropriate translation.
- Performing other linguistic tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Native fluency in Japanese and business proficiency in English.
- 3+ years of experience in English-to-Japanese translation and localization.
- Familiarity with the Japanese culture and trends.
- BA or equivalent in a similar field such as translation, linguistics, communications etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Cross-functional experience working with engineers, product teams and regional stakeholders.
- Experience in localization of online and mobile products.
- Experience in localization project management.
- Familiarity with computer-aided translation tools.
- Familiarity with digital marketing.
