Job Description

We are looking for a Data Science Director who is passionate about analytics for large scale ML systems to help drive data-informed decisions for the Monetization Infrastructure team and help shape the long term strategic direction of the development of this system.

The Data Science director will partner with Engineering and Product leads across Meta Ads, and AI infrastructure to guide the strategic direction for one of the largest-scale ML infrastructure systems in the world, developing new ML infrastructure capabilities, improving the efficiency of the systems and adopting the ads data systems to meet privacy requirements.

The ideal candidate has experience with large-scale systems and data product background.

The Monetization infrastructure team builds and operates one of the largest monetization infrastructure systems in the world. The team is at the heart of the Meta ads system, driving Meta’s advertising quality and revenue and the DS director role is central to ads business work and ads revenue.

Director, Data Science - Monetization Infrastructure Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams to inform, influence, support, and execute strategy and investment decisions for the Ads Infrastructure systems.
• Apply statistical and analytical expertise to drive informed decisions about growing and improving Ads monetization infrastructure system
• Develop understanding of complex and large scale Infrastructure systems, as well as broader industry challenges, to identify present and future risks and opportunities.
• Contribute to long-term technical vision and strategy that will improve the quality and efficiency of Ads Infrastructure at scale.
• Inspire, lead and grow a team of data scientists and managers across multiple teams..

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters in a quantitative discipline (e.g., AI, statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering) with 10+ years (or PhD with 8+ years).
• 6+ years of work experience managing analytics teams, working collaboratively with Engineering and cross-functional partners, and guiding data-influenced product planning, prioritization and strategy development.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in hiring, retaining and scaling diverse, geographically dispersed, high-performing teams.
• Intellectual curiosity and drive, decisiveness, experience with ambiguity and complexity.
• Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders and cross-functionally.
• Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on large scale AI infrastructure and operationalization.

$253,000/year to $314,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

 Individual pay is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
