Advanced Programs Remote Sensing has an exciting opening for an AI/ML Research/Data Science Engineer. This is a dynamic development of software for mission data processing applications for research & development and contracts. The position would participate in all aspects of the software life cycle, requirements, object oriented design, documents, diagrams, coding, and formal testing and integration. The R&D work involves high order image processing techniques, including object detection and tracking, object recognition, change detection, activity based intelligence, pattern of life, and motion imagery.

Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college in STEM related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Previous C++, Java, or Python experience
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience in data science
  • Excellent team orientation
  • US Citizenship as this position requires special access to support the program
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph

  • Cloud experience AWS, GCS, Azure
  • Languages: Matlab, Tensor Flow, Keras, PyTorch
  • Strong Mathematics background
  • Unit testing, Test Driven Development
  • Version Control: Git
  • UML modeling
  • Experience with Agile software processes

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
