Lockheed Martin is looking for a dedicated Payload Data Science Analyst to join the Mustang team in Denver, Colorado. This is a Ground floor opportunity on a new program award with a rapid Preliminary Design Review (PDR). This is a flagship program leveraging LM Space MBSE, MBE, and Digital Enterprise initiatives. Mustang is an agile program that presents unique opportunities to exercise and develop both technical depth and breadth across the full program lifecycle and to have a direct impact on the program’s success. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team in a fast paced environment is an absolute necessity. The successful candidate is a self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple tasks to completion.

The Mustang Mission Analysis team consists of a diverse group of analysts with a wide range of engineering related expertise. Together the team models spacecraft and payload capabilities to perform trade studies, aide requirement definition and verify mission performance. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Detailed payload performance modeling tool development and execution supporting mission performance analysis
  • Developing analysis artifacts for major design reviews and working-groups
  • Performing and documenting requirement decomposition related to analysis
  • Documenting analysis results and verification of analysis tools

Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level clearance is a requirement for this position.

Typically has 5 – 10 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Math or related field, or combined education and experience
  • Significant demonstrated analysis related experience
  • Prior modeling, simulation and analysis experience related to mission, spacecraft and/or payload mission analysis
  • Active TS/SCI or DoD TS clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI level clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with modeling spacecraft payload sensors, spacecraft constellations, operational analysis
  • Familiarity with Matlab
  • Familiarity with optimization processes and their application
  • Familiarity with Java, STK
  • Experience with MS Office applications and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Pay Rate:

In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $91,400 - $152,300 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

This position is incentive plan eligibleAbility to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
