Description: The Missiles & Fire Control Operations Transformation Team is looking for a high energy individual with a strong background in various data science methodologies to help grow its business and streamline decisions at the organization. The selected candidate will apply data science techniques in support of all programs within manufacturing operations. This role will have a particular focus on supporting the development of data science products by working with stakeholders to understand their business needs, translate them into data problems, and then set the direction of projects to solve those data problems. This individual must drive the work from prototype through to completion and delivery of a minimum viable product or final product so that the business users capture value from the work of the team. Minimal travel may be required to support project work and internal customer engagement

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills as well as data visualization storytelling.
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in identifying valuable ways of incorporating machine learning into business workflows and processes.
  • Superlative collaboration and interpersonal skills with self-starter and mentoring attitude
  • Strong experience in SQL, and Python or R
  • Strong experience working in Tableau
  • Previous experience in applying any of the following machine learning areas to business problems: supervised regression/classification, natural language processing, deep learning, anomaly detection, reinforcement learning.
  • The ability to stay updated on new technologies and apply tools in new ways in the rapidly evolving field of Data Science.
  • Previous experience building machine learning models by way of work, projects, courses, etc.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong experience in MFC ERP systems / data (SAP, SAP HANA)
  • Some MFC experience or background in Production Operations, Production Control, Finance, Quality, or other function
  • Experience with integration of data products into customer applications.
  • Proficient in interpreting documentation and debugging tools
  • Experience with or knowledge of data engineering and associated best practices, and software/data security considerations
  • Experience with or knowledge of AWS.
  • Experience with or expertise in manufacturing and/or engineering processes.
  • Experience with UI/UX and/or human-machine interaction.
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Shiny, Dash)

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
