Job Description

At Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, we're taking innovation to the next level. From designing the most advanced air vehicle to designing aircraft that defies gravity, our engineers live on the cutting edge of technology. Never have the opportunities for a technical career been so limitless.

This position will serve on the Integrated Systems Evaluation Team. Responsible to conduct data analysis of aircraft system performance (air vehicle and air system) focusing on lethality, survivability, and interoperability. This position reports to the Manager of the Integrated Systems Evaluation (ISE) team as part of the Simulation & System Test (SST) organization.

The ISE team is the only team of its kind that performs in-depth analysis to dig into the 1s and 0s of the jet’s integrated performance on mass scale. Using simulators, lab test, and flight test data, you will have the opportunity to learn about what it takes to complete the pilot’s mission and get home safely. Working with pilots and other test engineers, you will support flight test missions and lab test shifts from the control room. You will then review the data real-time and post-mission from those tests to characterize and evaluate aircraft performance in the mission to provide feedback to developers, pilots, engineers, and leadership.

This role requires creating data analysis tools and analytics, delivering solutions across the entire data processing pipeline requiring knowledge of local, distributed, cloud-based technologies, Big Data Ecosystems, and data virtualization. In this role, you will also learn to evaluate the aircraft performance for use in executive level summaries and briefings for senior executives and government decision makers. You will support planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of test events. You will be expected to lead teams to complete complex projects requiring coordination across multiple engineering teams, work with analysts to understand the data needs, and be able to deliver solutions to the hardest questions. You will also be expected to drive automation into everything we do.

The position will require domestic and international travel (~25%) to various customer locations, test sites, USG labs and Government Program Offices to coordinate and plan at all levels of test and integration and to observe execution of real-time flight and laboratory testing. Must be flexible on short notice to conduct travel.

A level 3 employee Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience
