Description:

The Missiles & Fire Control Operations Transformation Team is looking for a high energy individual with a strong background in machine learning and data science to help grow its business and streamline decisions at the organization. The selected candidate will apply data science techniques in support of all programs within manufacturing operations. This role will have a particular focus on leading the machine learning competency for the team through coaching internal team members and guiding the team’s machine learning development. The candidate will also be supporting the development of data science products by working with stakeholders to understand their business needs, translate them into data problems, and then set the direction of projects to solve those data problems. This individual must drive the work from prototype through to completion and delivery of a minimum viable product or final product so that the business users capture value from the work of the team. Minimal travel may be required to support project work and internal customer engagement.
Basic Qualifications:

• Strong experience building and deploying machine learning models in a work capacity

• Experience and competency in applying most of the following machine learning areas to business problems: supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, decision trees, clustering, natural language processing, deep learning, anomaly detection, reinforcement learning.
• Experience and competency implementing algorithms using packages and tools such as Keras, Tensorflow, Gensim, CUDA, Scikit Learn, SciPy, PyTorch
• Strong experience in SQL, and Python or R
• Demonstrated creativity and innovation in identifying valuable ways of incorporating machine learning into business workflows and processes.
• Superlative communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to stay updated on new technologies in the rapidly evolving field of Data Science.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills, business acumen, and demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
  Desired Skills:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science from an accredited college in a related discipline with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Experience with integration of data products into customer applications.
• Technical leadership experience or responsibility for data science / machine learning development on large projects
• MFC Operations experience
• Cross functional project collaboration experience
• Coaching and mentoring ability to up-skill other Data Scientists
• Demonstrated Project Management experience
• Experience with or knowledge of data engineering and associated best practices.
• Experience with or knowledge of AWS or other Cloud tools.
• Experience with or expertise in manufacturing and/or engineering processes.
• Experience with UI/UX and/or human machine interaction.
• Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Shiny, Dash)

Ability to Work Remotely:

 Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

• 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
