Bring your System Engineering knowledge, skills and experience to Lockheed Martin in Manassas, Virginia to support Signal and Image Processing applications for Navy Submarine Programs including modeling of algorithms and software development.

In this role within the Imaging Program, you will apply your proven experience to real-time video. Your role will include identifying and assessing new algorithms, prototyping implementations in Matlab, transitioning successful algorithms to C++ for deployment, and utilizing image processing to automate tests. As part of the Imaging team, you will support the full life-cycle of video processing to include in-service platforms, ongoing development, and look-ahead for future systems. Our team operates in an Agile environment where collaboration is critical. You will be fully engaged in the Agile process supporting scrums, backlog generation, prioritization and sprint planning. You will work day to day with Systems Engineering, software development and I&T.

Our team is part of a larger Navy team where we are successful if our co-teammates are successful. We provide expertise to making products from small business, Academia and Navy labs successful.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience; or no experience required with a related Masters degree.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Signal and Image Processing applications
  • C++ and MATLAB experience
  • Qualified candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position. This requires US Citizenship.

Desired Skills:

  • Git, Docker, multi-thread/asynchronous design, continuous integration experience
  • Neural networks (PyTorch), classical machine learning, statistical signal processing experience, GPU based processing (CUDA or OpenCV)
  • Knowledge of or experience with an Agile development environment and Tools (Redmine or Jira)
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD Pipeline
  • Experience with UNIX or LINUX, Software versioning tools
  • Knowledge of Cameras, optics, sensors across various light spectrums
  • Knowledge / experience with Submarine environment and processes
  • Systems Engineering or Software background, including requirements and interface management
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently and be involved in various life-cycle aspects of a program

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
