Description:Are you a Robotics enthusiast looking to make a significant impact in the exciting world of electro-optical assembly? We're seeking a talented Robotics Engineer to join our team and take automation to the next level. You'll be at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge robotics systems into our assembly line while crafting ingenious code that brings our processes to life.

An Automation/Robotics position within the Production Operations group will support the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of manufacturing tools and electromechanical systems. This includes automated components such as robots, conveyors, vision systems and programmable controllers. Primary responsibilities will include conceptualizing automated processes, selecting appropriate equipment, programming, and supporting implementation into the factory. The candidate is responsible for life cycle of automated processes and equipment from concept design to maintenance and upgrades. The candidate will also work with the design engineers during preliminary and detail design phases to assure designs are producible with proposed automated solutions and can be fabricated to meet cost and schedule targets. The job will require interfacing with multiple internal groups and with key suppliers. Working knowledge of computer-guided machinery, software specifications, automation programming & 3d modelling are a plus.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical degree or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Previous coding experience (Matlab/Python/C/C++/C# or VB.Net or equivalent).
  • Ability to identify and evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to business needs.
  • Ability to work in large cross-functional teams and at multiple levels in the organization (both salaried and shop floor operators / skilled trades team members).
  • The candidate must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Strong practical background in any of the following areas: perception, machine learning (applied to robotic problems), behavior development, planning, optimization, sensor processing and fusion.
  • Experience working with ROS.
  • Simulation software experience (Visual Components, RobDK, Gazeebo, Ignition, CopeliaSim, Octopuz, etc).
  • Experience with robot based vision system development and qualification.
  • Experience with programming industrial and/or collaborative robotic systems (UR, FANUC, Denso, Epson, Kuka).
  • Hands on experience with sensing technologies (e.g. sensors, camera 2D, 3D, IMU, encoder).
  • Algorithm prototyping and coding experience.
  • Experience with setting up server/client models.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (FTP,SSH,TELNET,etc).
  • Experience with developing end to end solutions such as front-end interfaces, back-end systems, and/or database integration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
