The Merchandise Systems & Analytics team is part of Disney’s CPGP team, which creates and sells Disney product around the globe. We are currently seeking a Sr. Manager of Retail Analytics who will lead a team of data scientists, ensuring their work enhances business profitability, efficiency, and customer experience. This role combines data expertise, analytics, AI, and innovation to solve real-world challenges. Balancing data science research with business needs, the position provides executive summaries across the organization, utilizing business insight to uncover data-driven opportunities. The role facilitates collaboration between technical and business teams, aligning strategies and leading talent effectively. Professional communication, relationship-building, and business acumen are crucial for delivering solutions and recommendations.

This role will report to the Director of Retail Systems, Analytics and Reporting

You Will:

  • Provide leadership and set strategic vision and direction for the data science team, focused on Omni Channel analysis across both Brick-and-Mortar and Ecommerce.
  • Conduct business assessments, develop future state business models and architectures, recommend improvements and creating long range technology roadmaps.
  • Engage stakeholders, align team priorities with company objectives, offer data-driven strategic guidance, and oversee project execution.
  • Create profit optimization narratives for retail using data, analytics, AI, and solution engineering.
  • Oversee the development of algorithm and pipeline development for dataset preparation and feature analysis.
  • Drives team development and succession planning via coaching, mentoring, training, and leadership growth.

You Have:

  • 7 years' experience, including 4+ years leading a sizable retail analytics and reporting team at an enterprise level.
  • Proven skill in simplifying intricate problems, distilling data, and constructing persuasive narratives to guide decision-making.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with both individuals and teams.
  • Competence in translating highly technical analyses into understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to rapidly grasp new technical systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and conducting comprehensive root cause analyses.
  • Expertise in marketing experiment design, customer segmentation, and channel optimization.
  • Proficiency in three or more key data technology domains:
  • Data pipeline technologies and ETL tools (e.g., SQL, SSIS, Knime, Alteryx, Tableau Prep)
  • Database platforms including Snowflake and SQL Server
  • Data visualization and consumption tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, Power BI, and Business Objects
  • Scripting languages such as Snowscript, JavaScript, VBA, and Python
  • Statistical and Data Science languages such as R, SAS, and Python
  • Application of machine learning techniques
  • Familiarity with advanced analytics methodologies like regression analysis, clustering, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, p-values, causal inference, and modeling techniques such as Random Forest, Bagging, Boosting, and Time Series analysis.
