Consumer Insight, Measurement & Analytics (CIMA) is part of the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) segment of The Walt Disney Company. CIMA influences data-driven and consumer-centric decision making with integrated, objective, and actionable insights.

The Sr Data Optimization Analyst position is responsible for supporting the Advanced Analytics & Optimization (AA0) operating environment. This position will work with other AAO teams to design, implement and sustain core functionality and solutions that are leveraged across the AAO area and other internal CIMA organizations. This position is within AAO to ensure that technology and data are delivered to requesting partners in a timely fashion. The position also is the supporting resource for maintaining the AAO analytics software environment and managing the availability of AAO development analytic solutions.

What you will do:

  • Focus on expanding the data ingest footprint to include new data sources and Consumer Products data according to MSAO data roadmap.
  • Build object-level automated rules to identify and rectify data quality issues allowing lineage to be tracked and validated from ingest through end use within one day of ingestion.
  • Build End-to-end data mapping for new data tables and coordinate the handoff to development team for code review and load implementation.
  • Design and implement ETL process for internal DPEP enterprise data for use in modeling and reporting.
  • Assist in the support of the production Source data ingest, ETL processes, and batch schedule.

What you will need:

  • Minimum 2 years professional work experience
  • Experience with developing and deploying in a cloud native environment, preferably AWS cloud and/or Snowflake. (1-3 years)
  • Working knowledge of ETL application design, data, infrastructure architecture disciplines and languages such as Python, R, JAVA, and SQL
  • Advanced SQL experience developing complex queries and tuning (2+ years)
  • Programming experience in Python or R. (1-3 years)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, Advanced Analytic, or Data Science implementations including Data Modeling and Data Cataloguing.
  • Data Modeling experience with ERWin or other industry standard DM tool (2+ years)
  • Data Cataloguing experience with Informatica Metadata Manager, Alation, or other industry standard cataloguing tool. (2+ Years)
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to summarize and present complex analytics to senior leadership

What will set you apart:

  • 3+ years professional work experience
  • Prior work experience within a media agency or analytics consulting firm
  • Demonstrated product and delivery experience across all tiers in the solutioning of information management solutions – from data sourcing to end-state delivery / consumption.
  • Proven ability to leverage and integrate technology components into an overall solution architecture in support of business requirements.
  • Experience delivering in a team environment using Agile framework
  • Experience with Git, Continuous Integration and related tools
  • Demonstrated unit testing and integration testing skills

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering or operations research
