The Product & Data Engineering team is responsible for end to end development for Disney’s world-class consumer-facing products, including streaming platforms Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, and digital products & experiences across ESPN, Marvel, Disney Studios, NatGeo, and ABC News. The team drives innovation at scale for millions of consumers around the world across Apple, Android, Smart TVs, game consoles, and the web, with our platforms powering core experiences like personalization, search, messaging and data.

The Client Signals Core Platform team is responsible for transmitting billions of client-emitted signals throughout the Disney ecosystem. We build and manage platforms that process terabytes of data daily while performing real-time enrichment and aggregation for nearline and offline uses.

As a software engineer at Disney, you will help to build the platform that powers these applications. You will help design and scale out our infrastructure while improving the software delivery process. You will help innovate how event pipelines at Disney function and build out the next generation of streaming platforms. We value creativity, curiosity, and inquisitiveness. Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the next generation event platform that powers Disney+, Star+, and ESPN
  • Work cross-functionally with multiple partners including client, platform, ML, and data teams
  • Build platforms and applications at massive scale
  • Identify elegant solutions to complex and unique problems

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • 3+ years building production-grade software in Java, C++, C#, Python or Scala
  • Demonstrate ownership and responsibility of the development, implementation, and release of the software lifecycle
  • You are curious, and like to learn
  • Excellent technical communication skills

  • You wish to make an impact in a large scale organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in streaming data applications like Apache Flink and Spark
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services like Kinesis, MSF, Dynamo, ElastiCache, Lambda, S3, ECS
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Cloudwatch and Datadog
  • Knowledge of data products and platforms, including Spark, Parquet, Athena, Databricks

Job Posting Statement The hiring range for this position in in Santa Monica/Burbank/Glendale/L.A., California is $112,600 - $151,000; and the hiring range for this position in Seattle, WA is $118,000 - $158,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
