Job Description

The Manager, SEO will lead the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) team serving the portfolio of businesses within the Walt Disney Parks, Experiences and Products segment, as well as other businesses within The Walt Disney Company. You will report to the Customer Engagement Sr Manager of Search Activation.

You will be responsible for the overall growth, leadership and development of the SEO program and team. The Manager, SEO champions for Organic Search channel performance with stakeholders, partnering closely across Technology, Product, Design, Content, and other key Marketing teams.

You will seek-out and develop new forms of groundbreaking technologies and strategies to drive efficiencies, competitive advantage, revenue and to plan return on investment.

As a part of the Global Marketing Center of Excellence, this role will take an inclusive and innovative approach to leadership valuing The 5 Keys of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.

You Will:

Program Leadership & Performance

  • Develops SEO program evolution roadmap for long-term planning of resourcing, technologies, and business channel growth across technical, content, local and offsite SEO.
  • Drives domain expertise at the leadership level in organic search trends and processes across technical, content, app, local and offsite search experiences. Participate in key leadership projects providing thought leadership around search algorithms, AI, generative AI, NLP, ASO, voice search and content discovery.
  • Effectively translates highly technical subject matter expertise for non-technical audiences, partner presentations and executive level business strategy discussions.
  • Drives innovation through encouraging new insights, tests, approaches, tactics, enhancing current processes and tool sets benefiting SEO strategies and business.
  • Acts as a champion with data partners to ensure organic search data accuracy, improve reporting capabilities and business insights.
  • Builds effective links with business partners and line of business stakeholders to ensure objectives are accomplished across technical, content, local and offsite SEO.
  • Champion team strategies with key stakeholders across lines of business across parks, consumer products, local and offsite to successfully see critical metric YOY growth.
  • Leads key SEO vendor budget, discovery, negotiations, MSAs and ongoing partnerships.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Contributes to crafting a team and department culture of inclusion, collaboration, teamwork, and innovation.
  • Runs SEO team resourcing, hiring, onboarding and long-term planning.
  • Leads in alignment with organization, department and team’s mission, goals and objectives through motivation, coaching, communication, and leadership.
  • Clearly communicates team goals, expectations, and procedures.
  • Supports team members providing guidance through regular meetings, one-on-ones, and prioritizing duties to align with business objectives and performance growth goals.
  • Drives and encourages ongoing development of SEO team across subject areas keeping up with industry changes, testing new tactics and expanding channel capabilities.

You Will Have:

  • 10+ years' experience in search engine optimization
  • 5+ years’ experience in leading and developing a team
  • 5+ years’ experience presenting to executive level leadership
  • Deep knowledge and experience in working across Technical, Local, ASO and Content SEO
  • Understanding of search algorithms, NLP, LLMs, MUM, multimodal search, Voice Search and AI
  • Solid understanding of Angular JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Schema and Core Web Vitals
  • Proven excellence in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to deliver polished documentation, data analysis, and impactful presentations.
  • Skilled in effectively applying project management systems such as JIRA, Smartsheet, Workfront, and others to ensure seamless project execution and collaboration.
  • Proficient in using corporate analytics systems like Adobe Analytics to derive valuable insights and make data-driven decisions that drive business success.
  • Extensive experience in employing industry-leading enterprise SEO keyword tool sets, including Google AdWords, hares, SEMRush, Conductor, and others, to implement effective optimization strategies and improve search engine rankings.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry-standard enterprise SEO technical tool sets, such as Google Search Console, Google Lighthouse, DeepCrawl, ScreamingFrog, and more, to conduct comprehensive website audits, identify technical issues, and enhance site performance.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard enterprise SEO local tool sets like Google Business Profile, Yext, SOCI, Yelp, Moz, and others, to optimize local search visibility, lead online business listings, and improve overall local SEO 

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
