The Data Solutions & Platforms team is responsible for developing data & analytics solutions for business groups across the enterprise. We are a collaborative engineering team who enjoy delivering innovative solutions to sophisticated business challenges. Examples of platforms and services we are responsible for include: data integration hub, data warehouses, BI tools, data science tools, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and other automation tools.

This Staff Software Engineer – Data Science role will have the following responsibilities:

• Developing highly-scalable, flexible, cost-effective, and secure enterprise data solutions
• Supervising as the lead engineer for Disney’s Data Science Workbench platform
• Providing data science and analytics solutions for multiple internal business partners
• Being a subject-matter resource on all things data engineering, data integration, and data modeling
• Drive timely and on-scope solutions, understanding the needs of our business groups and partners to ensure requirements are successfully met

Needed Skills & Experiences

• 5+ years experience with advanced data analytics and developing data science models
• 5+ years working with data science platforms & tools (ex. R Studio, Jupyter, Dataiku, Domino Data Labs, Alteryx)
• Experience developing data platforms in Python, R, & SQL
• Expertise in data engineering
• Knowledge within cloud development and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Validated experience running sophisticated technical projects with multiple stakeholders
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related; or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in California is $149,240 to $200,200 per year and in Washington State is $156,292 to $209,660 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
