The Data Solutions & Instrumentation (DSI) team within the Product organization is seeking a polished & experienced Sr. Product Manager II to develop the data and measurement requirements for, and oversee the implementation of, Adobe Analytics and other instrumentation across Disney’s portfolio of Sports digital products. In this role you’ll partner with our Sports Product team and ESPN’s global research and analytics teams, and downstream data stakeholders to ensure the data we’re collecting reflects the evolving needs of the business and provides insight into our fan’s experience with our digital and direct-to-consumer sports products.

This role will focus on ensuring consistency and stability of our data pipelines and analytics implementations across ESPNs portfolio of products on all device platforms – inclusive of the ESPN, ESPN+, ESPN Fantasy & ESPN Tournament Challenge. Roles within The DSI team require technical acumen and excellent communication to collaborate with Consumer Software Engineering (CSE) teams to implement requirements and support our Quality Assurance teams through the validation process. This role will work with data consumers and stakeholders to ensure they understand the data generated by our applications and can use it to build reports, insights, or other data products and capabilities. The health, stability, and consistency of data in our applications is critical to the ESPN business and this role is vital to ensuring ESPN fans have an optimal experience with our products. Success in this role is requires driving consistent implementation across device platforms and ensuring data continuity through a constant flow of app and web release cycles.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather measurement requirements from a broad range of cross-functional stakeholders (ESPN Research, Sports Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Ad Sales, Editorial & more), translate them into technical solution design artifacts & partner with our Consumer Software Engineering (CSE) team on implementation and validation across ESPN’s portfolio of digital products on all device platforms.
  • Perform the Administrator role within Adobe Analytics, inclusive of Report Suite architecture, Processing Rule maintenance, Dimension management, Marketing Channel oversight & all components of Analysis Workspace Project report development.
  • Develop and maintain excellent technical product documentation that serves the needs of our technical implementation partners, dependent downstream teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Consistently communicate implementation changes and your roadmap with global stakeholders while balancing a steady flow of questions and requests.
  • Build strong relationships with technical partners to ensure consistent, error-free implementation processes and tight alignment on evolving technical solutions & SDKs.
  • Drive schema and operational consistency across the DSI team beyond the core Sports Product vertical you’ll support, gaining exposure to Disney+, Hulu, ABC, ABC News, Marvel, National Geographic & more.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of product management experience or relevant enterprise digital measurement solution or customer data platform.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • Proven track record partnering with Engineering teams to implement digital measurement solutions.
  • Polished communicator comfortable translating stakeholder needs into well-documented technical specifications.
  • Ability to review analytics implementation accuracy using Charles, Fiddler, or similar HTTP debugging proxy.
  • Strong expertise in the rapidly evolving product analytics space.
  • Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills with ability to balance various priorities.

High-level of comfort building a roadmap and working within an agile, Jira-driven operating model

Demonstrable expertise & passion for the Sports category with understanding of the digital media landscape

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or data science
  • Experience in a technical function for an industry leading digital analytics, BI, or similar SaaS providers.
  • Experience with Adobe Analytics, Amplitude, Google Analytics, ComScore, Nielsen, and other digital measurement tools

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $149,240 to $200,200 per year, in San Francisco it is $163,426 to $219,230 and in NYC and Seattle it is $156,292 to $209,660 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
