Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in both application development and DevOps, as well as a strong background in leadership and project management. They will be responsible for overseeing the entire development process, from ideation and planning to deployment and maintenance.

This role will drive continuous improvement and innovation within the delivery processes and overarching WDI platform ecosystem, providing solutions that meet the demands of both our Creative and Delivery Imagineer stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of application developers and interactive software developers
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient and effective development and operations processes
  • Oversee the entire development lifecycle, from ideation and planning to deployment and maintenance
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Collaborates and influences executive business leadership to leverage in-house tools and capabilities, delivers attraction technology and digital solutions, and ensures smooth hand-offs to Imagineering projects and parks operational teams. Key business partners include Walt Disney Imagineering, WDI-R&D, Finance, Park Operations, and segment Tech and Digital
  • Continuously ensures appropriate processes, personnel and required technology capabilities are in place to meet business availability and performance service level agreements
  • Develops strategies to determine build versus buy decisions
  • Actively works to build and mentor a highly motivated, collaborative, enthusiastic, and skilled teams, communicating career paths, training, and development. Successful candidates have demonstrated the ability to build strong and collaborative teams through transparency and open communication
  • Financial Management (Annual Capital and Expense AOP/ACOP Planning)- Facilitate approvals for financial forecasting and submissions
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups, and staff

Required Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience in leading technology teams
  • Proven and successful track record leading high-performing teams delivering systems that positively impact business performance
  • Hands-on experience in developing and implementing big data solutions across large, complex organizations
  • Expert knowledge of Cloud deployment technologies for building highly scalable and resilient systems/services
  • Skilled in distilling portfolio communications and insights, synthesizing and crafting compelling presentations for executive audiences, both technical and not technical.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the day-to-day tasks of diverse teams, while effectively influencing senior management on key decisions and direction
  • Demonstrated superior critical thinking skills and experience in strategic planning and execution of technology architecture roadmaps
  • BS or BA degree or equivalent in Computer Science

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior knowledge of Disney’s technology ecosystem
  • Master of Science (Computer Science), or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a large media, technology, or internet company

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $243,400.00 to $294,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographical region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
