About the role:

The Commercial Consulting team delivers Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) solutions for the Novartis’s Franchises, commercial excellence teams and DIA (data, insights and analytics) stakeholders across the globe, including:

  • Customer Segmentation & Targeting
  • Field Roles Design
  • Field Force Sizing & Structure
  • Territory Design / Deployment Strategy
  • Incentive Compensation Design and Health check

We are seeking a Consultant to lead teams in delivering complex engagements, support and drive local resource decision making, track customer satisfaction and resolve issues, all in partnership with the local support functions. The role would directly be reporting to the Senior Consultant in the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading project teams and people management responsibilities to enable sustainable development of associates by creating and tracking people objectives, insights, development plans, etc. in Novartis’s platforms.
  • Delivering SFE consulting solutions to the customers in line with the agreed SLAs (timeliness, accuracy, quality, etc) and drive excellent customer service.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and supporting business development initiatives by thoroughly understanding the needs, proactive communications other relevant project management skillsets during engagements.
  • Aligning with internal functional operating procedures like time tracking, KPI tracking and reporting, and other internal systems
  • Developing and maintaining knowledge repositories that captures qualitative and quantitative reports of brands, disease areas, macroeconomic trends of Novartis operating markets, etc.
  • Leading and supporting innovation initiatives focused on either creating new solutions for customers or enabling process improvements.
  • Supporting the leadership on internal activities like people hiring, people retention efforts, capturing customer feedback, tracking targets, creating team’s strategic imperatives, etc.

Minimum Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in an analytical field/ Life Sciences/Pharmacy/ Medicine/ Science & Technology
  • Experience (7+ years) in commercial execution/management consulting or pharmaceutical company with experience in working in a matrix and geographically dispersed environment.
  • Should be able to lead and deliver consulting projects for the customers, ensuring adherence to SLAs, in the following areas (at least any 2 of the below):

o Commercial strategy design

o Field Force sizing and structure (sales force, access, medical teams)

o Optimal resource deployment, leveraging analytical tools & algorithms.

o Segmentation, Targeting and Call Plan design.

o Incentive scheme design and payout calculation strategies

  • Ad-hoc projects based on local business challenges identified through assessments and or benchmarking.
  • Experience in mentoring teams and have supported talent development initiatives; grows and develops talent by focusing on the approach to work, learning agility, quality, delivery of results, etc.Ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence strategic decision-making.Should be customer service oriented, strong and proactive business results-focus, and proven ability to provide insights that increase productivity.

Desirable Requirements

  • MBA/ Postgraduate in Consulting, Operations, Data Analytics, Data science or other related field.
