As a Senior Software Engineer with the SAP Ariba Platform team, you can accelerate the innovation and delivery of the next generation of the Ariba cloud experience. Applications running on the Network provide critical business processes involving thousands of buying organizations, millions of sellers across the globe, and several millions of users.

Artificial Intelligence with SAP Ariba Platform team, you can accelerate the innovation, design, and delivery of the next generation of Ariba cloud experience. Our solutions touch all the participants of the largest Business Network running over 1.7 trillion of collaborative commerce applications running on the SAP.

You will work with some of the brightest AI data scientists to build AI/ML models to power the world's largest commercial (B2B) search engine platform.

What you’ll do:

• Position title: SAP Ariba iXp Intern - Search AI Scientist
• Location: Palo Alto, CA – Please note that roles will be remote until local guidelines ensure safe office reopenings
• Expected start date: June 2023
• Duration: 6 months
• Working hours: 40 hrs./week

In this role,

• Describe the role: SAP Ariba Search AI Scientist
• Design and implement AI/ML innovations to the Ariba Cloud Platform
• Rapidly prototype deep learning models including, but not limited to, classification, detection, segmentation, reconstruction, and denoising; iterate on training models with fast turnaround time.
• Design and develop new machine learning algorithms while keeping abreast of the latest advances across various labs and conferences.
• Build automated solutions for large-scale, patient-facing, clinical problems.
• Project-driven experience: gain cross-functional skills from our virtual and in-person learning sessions, diverse subject matter experts, and project deliverables
• The interns will contribute to existing and new AI projects by developing algorithms, deep learning, and other data mining flows and applications as well as doing research partaking in professional conferences and writing technical papers and/or blog posts
• Work under the mentorship of other scientists responsible for the development of new machine learning models and optimization of existing ML models
• Supporting machine learning research/project and development teams with all aspects of AI algorithms
• Designing and implementing novel machine learning algorithms to process real data
• Applying recent research breakthroughs to real problems to create business value

• Qualified applicants must be in pursuit of (or recently graduated from) a bachelor’s or master’s level degree program studying Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field
• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures for developing productive machine learning-based solutions and/or systems (design, coding, testing, quality assurance) is required
• Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Reinforcement Learning, Information Retrieval & Extraction, and Recommendation Systems
• Knowledge of Python and machine learning software packages such as scikit-learn or TensorFlow, PyTorch
• The selected candidate must be available to work 40 hours/week for a 3 to 6-month term starting in June of 2023
