Job Description

As ASAPP scales their product offering to more enterprise customers around the world, we are seeking ML Engineers with a growth mindset to tackle the many scaling challenges that come with working with cutting edge AI techniques with some of the smartest researchers in the industry. In this role you will learn and innovate how we scale our modeling techniques to address the mass market efficiently and effectively and seek out creative ways to tackle tomorrow’s problems from your learnings from delivering to our customers and their use cases. This role involves a research component (~30%) focusing on exploring solutions to these scale challenges.

What you'll do

• Help us turn research into meaningful ML products that help tens of millions of users
• Assess the risks and merits of different approaches to solving complex problems in the light of the specific requirements and time frame
• Actively work on creating and improving tools to parallelize model training, unifying dataset creation and accuracy measurements across experiments
• Closely monitor the edge cases of model performance and taking active measures of explaining the reasons and possible approaches for diminishing undesirable effects
• Be actively involved in the process of productizing research experiments into enterprise-ready AI solutions

What you'll need

• Experience automating/scaling model training
• Troubleshooting skills for when issues arise
• Experience w/ deep learning
• Research experience that can be applied to scaling 
• A Bachelor’s Degree in a field of science, technology, engineering or math, or equivalent hands-on experience 
• Desire to learn new things, work closely with peers from different teams, and be open to teach and learn from others.

What we'd like to see

• 4+ years of experience in Production experience with Machine Learning and/or Natural Language Processing
• Experience in deep-learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Knowledge of additional languages such as SQL, Go, Javascript, or Typescript are not necessary but will help you work in cross-functional teams
• Experience using Athena and Redshift
