What you`ll do

You are joining our Global Cloud Services (GCS) Infrastructure Data Center Hardware Asset Management (DC HWAM) and Reporting unit. Your role will be critical for running and further developing SAP’s Data Center Hardware Asset Management Services; identifying gaps, and risks, and for creating insights from data to enable continual improvement activities of Data Center Hardware Asset Management. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist (f/m/d) to strengthen our Data Center Hardware Asset Management (DCHW AM) Reporting & Data Quality Service Team. The responsibilities for this position may include (but not limited to) following:

  • You will optimize the existing data models incl. validation rules for monitoring and continual improvement of DC asset data accuracy.
  • You will work on detecting patterns and predict future developments based on data.
  • You will collaborate with business stakeholders and translate the business requirements into concrete designs, mock-ups, etc. so that technical teams can implement technical solutions for e.g., process automation
  • You will be responsible for the DC HWAM key attributes relevant data entities (tables/data sets), incl. working together with the technical teams of GCS Tools e.g., manage the data mapping between source tools and SISM/CCIR; maintain the relevant documentation. At the moment there are ~70 attributes that are used to describe and manage ~800.000 data center hardware assets.
  • Apply data science tools & technology to support business requirements and needs; define and lead data analysis/science projects

What you bring

  • 3-5 years of business experience working in a relevant data science, data analytics, and process automation role
  • Strong data science and data modelling skills including multidimensional data models
  • Knowledge of and practical experience with software/applications that are used to analyse business data
  • Hands-on experience with analytic methods and statistical modelling procedures (e.g., hypothesis testing, regression, segmentation techniques)
  • Hands-on experience using statistical programming/data mining techniques, SQL, and Python
  • Experience creating actionable, business-focused analytic output
  • Ability to translate analytic results into business insights; effectively communicate data-driven insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Problem-solving skillset with methodological background
  • Detail-oriented. A commitment to excellence; pro-active and eager to learn new things & working in a cross-functional team
  • Fluent English and German language skills oral and written
