Oracle Digital Assistant (ODA), a self-service platform on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) enables customers to create robust multi-channel, multilingual skills and digital assistants by providing state of the art conversational AI capabilities. With emphasis on being low code, data programming for AI within the platform and deep integrations with Oracle Apps, ODA enables developers to build deep skills and assistants compared to the typical brittle chatbots out there. ODA has been powering digital assistants in Oracle Apps and for several popular companies for the past few years. With a great customer base constantly providing feedback, challenging data shapes and problems, ODA has a big charter ahead with several ambitious goals, with deep pockets and a lot of creative freedom.

As a Data Scientist, you will work with a team to improve the accuracy and efficiency of existing deep learning models by way of applying your data science expertise to relevant data. Specifically,

• Work with product management and define the end to end AI solution that considers the customer use cases, end-user experience, developer data programming, machine learning model choices, model strengths and weaknesses
• Understand, champion and innovate in the model paradigms that fit the conversational AI space: multilingual models, transfer learning, few shot techniques and techniques that work with dialog context
• Employ data-centric AI techniques like data consistency, data augmentation techniques, data manufacturing, data quality assessment to design novel algorithms for ODA NLU
• Go beyond the empirical results and perform detailed behavioral testing of models in a methodical way
• Tune deep learning models to the required behavioral characteristics, metrics and acceptance rates across various capabilities, based on qualitative analysis

Basic Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in industry as a data scientist.
• Expertise in python programming, especially around data manipulation and building data pipelines.
• Expertise in end to end product development and delivery in Python.
• Experience in statistical techniques, machine learning, data analysis.
• Superior ability to interpret and analyze model results from different facets.
• Expertise in Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data.
• Experience in enhancing data collection procedures to include relevant information.
• Experience in extending internal data with third party sources of information when needed.
• Experience in ML Ops

Preferred Qualifications

• Detail oriented with focus on quality of the product, data, and code.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• Experience in data augmentation technologies.
• Thinks strategically and balances between tactical execution and medium to longer term planning
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and can quickly adjust to changing priorities.
