Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

You will help to create, optimize, and deploy at scale, innovative customer-facing ML-based features for Oracle’s industry leading SaaS applications. These features are redefining enterprise software by leveraging the power of predictions and recommendations, to create a more meaningful and differentiated experience for our users. You’ll get to work on solutions deployed at massive scale on leading-edge cloud technologies developed on Oracle’s own Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will work directly with Data Science and OCI to develop, optimize and deploy at scale, ML models that are directly driving Oracle’s SaaS application customer experience.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field, Masters preferred
• Minimum of 15 years of professional full-time work experience in software development, building and supporting large scale, highly available applications
• Demonstration of strong programming skills in Java and Python
• Demonstrate an understanding of Machine Learning solutions as deployed in a cloud infrastructure
• Experience with CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes
• Solid understanding of agile software development practices

Key responsibilities:

• Work with Data Scientists to translate data science models into production product enhancements
• Optimize existing models for maximum compute efficiency, both performance and resource consumption
• Design, build and optimize data access and pipelines to support deployment of new ML features at scale
• Work directly with the OCI team to define requirements for new and evolving cloud services
• Own and drive improvements to system architecture and the technical roadmap
• Operational support of production models, including responding to alerts
