Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.

About the Job / The Role

The Service Excellence CSI (Compliance, Security and Inventory) team is seeking experienced developer, you will work with development, product, operations, Security and Compliance teams within Analytical Organization and wider Oracle organizations to solve interesting technical challenges by self-driving, defining, designing, deploying and troubleshooting key Oracle Cloud services, platforms, and infrastructure with always thinking about reliability, scalability, resilience, security, Compliance, performance and automation.

What You'll Do

  • Partnering with the teams to ensure the security and compliance of Oracle Analytics team follows regulations, policy, standards, and best practices, through automation.
  • Candidates will be expected to successfully lead, manage and key focus is to automate services and programs.
  • Automation – You will have a clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles, and will be eager to automate, wherever and whenever the possibility arises, while simultaneously eliminating technical debt. Automation must be part of your DNA.
  • Develop methods to extract data from Cloud environments to support the controls testing automation.
  • Develop custom tools using latest technologies and integrating with our existing internal development tools (i.e. Git, Jira, Jenkins, Chef) to support controls testing.
  • Develop, automate and maintain audit/compliance tasks in JIRA and related tools.
  • Build and maintain compliance dashboards to provide a holistic view of the compliance posture of the organization, with self-service validation on compliance work.
  • You will understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of the production services to automate compliance requirements.
  • In partnership with your Development, Product, Security and operations partners, you will have the responsibility to ensure that services have ability to self-service to validate compliant or not and where not, we have designed and provided tooling, reports and dashboards to drive remediation work.
  • Technical Experts - As service owner, you are the ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as SOPs for Level1 staff. You will usually get called in during incidents as an SME, when the source of a problem will relate to Compliance. You will have the deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of the internal controls, business processes, and corresponding evidence, in alignment with industry and regulatory requirements and expectations
  • Creates and complete projects to assist in improving organizational efficiency and effectiveness, and minimize organizational impact and risk
  • Conduct business process reviews to both assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations / service teams as well as evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls
  • Conduct interactions with Service / control owners that exhibits control understanding and confidence
  • Effectively communicate status to executive leadership within self-service reporting/dashboards
  • Communicates within the team autonomously and drives the communications across partner teams
  • Drives clearly defined intra-team issues to resolution
  • Learns actively and quickly; empowered to update and enhance current audit processes, tooling, and documentation
  • Maintains open communication with management and teams across Oracle

What You Need to Have

General Qualifications

The candidate must have knowledge and experience with: (minimum 5+ years’ experience in)

  • Hands on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and/or AWS, Azure, or GCP compute, storage, and network operational experience.
  • Methodical approaches to troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems
  • Issue tracking and collaboration (Jira and Confluence).
  • Producing documentation in support of developed work (KBs, run books, help guides).
  • Linux/Unix system administration including system level knowledge of Linux on OCI Gen 2, creating and executing scripts.
  • Networking and TCP/IP fundamentals.
  • Utilizing agile methodologies.
  • Working with remote, global teams as well as individuals.
  • Ability to effectively assess and communicate risks and appropriate levels of urgency to management and engineering staff
  • Working independently and in a self-directed manner.
  • Most importantly, the aptitude to be a good team player and the willingness to learn and implement new
  • Methodical approach to troubleshooting complex problems
  • Analytical, data science and UI experience
  • Significant experience in control assessment and audit for operational controls
  • In-depth knowledge of industry and regulatory compliance standards
  • Possesses ability to explain complex topics to audiences with no auditing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use multiple avenues of communication (verbal, written, ticketing, messaging, etc.)
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver on multiple tasks simultaneously and ability to partner with management in support of key initiatives and projects
  • Motivated to accomplish goals and objectives to ensure organizational and customer success
  • Attention to detail, proven analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience and Education

  • A BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Strong application/product/software background
  • Understand internet networking services, such as VCNs, DNS, HTTP, ETC.
  • Programming and scripting languages (Python3, Java, bash, Golang is our preferred)
  • Using CI/CD scripting tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience on Database Administration/Development on Oracle Database, MySQL or other RDBMS
  • Experience in OSQUERY, or other Compliance, Security, Inventory software services.
  • Databases and big data stores
  • Defining and documenting technical architecture of complex and highly scalable products
  • Experience with Splunk and dash boarding tools such as Power-BI, Tableau, Oracle Analytics Cloud
  • Experience with designing, building, and maintaining APIs
  • Preferred 3-5 years relevant experience working on SOC 2, FedRAMP, HIPAA (or other Healthcare), PCI, BSI27001 Compliance frameworks

Expected Oracle tasks:

Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
