Job Description

We are the Data Infrastructure org in the Core Technology group, building next generation eBay data platforms and products.

Core Technology (CT) is a distributed team responsible for the end-to-end eBay technology platform. This platform runs our entire infrastructure and all the services that come together to form ebay.com.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate to the design and implementation of Analytics infrastructure to align with the vision of eBay Platform Infrastructure

• Focus on innovative ideas to drive the future of open-source technology for patent filing and open-source community contribution

• Design and implement technical solutions to support the ecosystem of Analytics Infrastructure

• Work with a team of engineering expertise to design and develop innovative technical solutions

Job Requirements:

• Proven successful track record of 6+ years of software engineering design and development experience with strong background of open-source technology

• Strong development skills in Java with strong sense of performance, scalability, concurrency and extensibility

• Have passion and strong engineering background on dealing with big data in the e-Commerce industry

• Excellent background on computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skill on both defect and performance issue resolution

• Proven experience with delivery focus in a high velocity, high quality environment

• Experience in Hadoop ecosystems such as Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Hive, etc.

• Experience with Linux and Kubernetes preferred.

• Strong experience in Spark Development.

• Strong communication skills in oral and written English

• Working experience in multi-national company is a plus

• Strong inter-personal networking skills with the ability to relate to executives and other team members through all organizational levels

Basic Qualifications:

• Preferred M.S. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or equivalent

• Good communications skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work with other specialists as a standout colleague

• Experienced engineer with quality, user experience and customer satisfaction

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$135,200 - $205,700

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
