Job Description
Generative AI is the next ground-breaking wave of technology, and eBay is looking for a Product Manager to help unlock its outstanding potential. We are searching for an intellectually broad and adventurous individual to build the next generation of product recommendations algorithms for eBay shoppers. As a Product Manager in the Recommendations team at eBay, you will bring the ground-breaking potential of generative AI by building a new class of experiences including conversational shopping assistants, virtual agents, agent recommendations. In this role, you will craft a strategy for generative AI that ultimately drives company-level measurable outcomes. The opportunities of generative AI are endless in e-commerce and social consumer apps, so crafting the plan for which opportunities to address and when will be the most critical. You will answer deep strategic questions such as: How to achieve the product market fit for these new products? How do we ensure marketplace safety and customer privacy? You will conduct a detailed assessment of eBay buyer needs, business goals, and internal AI infrastructure and open source models to power delightful recommendations.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of relevant AI and machine learning techniques to build and launch generative AI solutions using state of the art LLMs such as ChatGPT, Bard, Llama and others. You understand LLM frameworks and products and have enough knowledge of their underlying implementation to define and complete a strategy to power customer facing experiences
- You have a proven history of leading large-scale product transformations. You have introduced radical products or features in previous roles that have dramatically changed market dynamics
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Product Management, shipping customer facing products with engineers, designers, and data scientists resulting in significant business impact
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree (preferably in computer science or statistics). Masters/MBA is a plus

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.
$149,200 - $234,850
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
