Job Description
Aggregate huge amount of data and information from large numbers of sources to discover patterns and features necessary to build machine learning models that match eBay’s inventory with customers’ demand via recommendation systems. Design and implement end-to-end solutions using Big-Data Analytics, Statistics and Machine Learning and other AI methods to drive customer traffic to eBay. We are a highly collaborative diverse team of Scientists and Engineers, open to new ideas and dedicated to driving real measurable impact, while working with state-of-the art AI methods on very big Datasets. We offer a hybrid model of work, based on onsite- and remote-work combination, depending on the candidate’s preference.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of practical industry experience in building & deploying ML predictive models.
- Strong programming skills in one or more of the following programming languages: Scala, C/C++, Python.
- Mathematical background in statistics/ML is required.
- Previous experience with ML using at least one of the ML tools and its libraries (in e.g. R/Python/Keras) is required.
- Expertise with Big Data Platforms is a strong plus e.g., Hadoop / Spark / Hive.
- Some expertise in specialized areas such as Recommendation Systems, Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning is a plus.
- Good communication skills, team-player.
