We are seeking highly qualified computer vision research scientists to work on a variety of CV areas including Large Scale Visual Search/Detection/Recognition, Fine Grained Classification, Attribute Discovery and Localization, Weakly Supervised Learning, Semantic Segmentation, and OCR among others. You will work closely with engineers to create new capabilities from initial algorithms and out to CV-enabled features for next-gen experiences to further empower our buyers and sellers.

About the Team:

The Computer Vision team at eBay Core AI is looking for highly qualified candidates for the full-time Senior Applied Researcher position. The CV team works on capabilities at the heart of new product experiences. eBay’s strategic vision is to become the best global marketplace for buyers and sellers through a tech-led reimagination of the company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in computer science or related fields with at least 8 years of relevant industrial experience
  • Expert coding in Python, C/C++
  • Hands on experience with TensorFlow and PyTorch
  • Experience building simple demo applications for computer vision
  • Excellent knowledge in CV and ML
  • Experience in search and ecommerce experience a strong plus

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new deep learning models to solve novel tasks and improve existing model performance for large-scale computer vision systems in areas including product understanding
  • Familiar with and able to leverage latest published research, creating and advancing innovative capabilities
  • Lead projects and work cross functionally to bring capabilities to customers

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York City is expected in the range below.

$149,200 - $234,850

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
