The SIMPHONI Program is designed to capture, process, and analyze data from non-clinical In Vivo and Ex Vivo data sources. The Data Management component of SIMPHONI is responsible for providing dashboard capabilities, including visualization and statistical analysis, plus data curation, a KPI engine and data quality checks. BMS Research IT is recruiting a permanent Data Management Delivery Manager who will support, maintain, and develop systems as SIMPHONI Data Management matures. The role requires a creative hands-on technologist who can think outside of the box and enjoy challenging projects. The role will perform ongoing support, design, development, and deliver activities related to advancing the SIMPHONI Program.
This role requires passion about the intersection of data and life sciences and the ability to apply process engineering, data engineering, analytics, and software development skills to solve problems in this domain. The ideal candidate will have a software development background and effectively work and lead in a matrixed team with other IT organizations and with end-user teams across the globe to understand requirements, communicate status and conduct necessary implementation, testing, and support activities.
The candidate will implement user stories for backend and frontend updates, clarify requirements with BAs, raise risks, and manage dependencies. SIMPHONI is a hub for various types of data (In-vivo, assay, KPIs) and platforms (AWS Glue, Spotfire, EDC, AXON and Data Ops), so the ability to collaborate with a matrixed team is critical. The scope of work includes development and testing data management (parsing, transformations, extraction), data enrichment through scripting, as well as enabling analytics and visualizations. On a day-to-day basis, the candidate will also provide product support including break fixes and addressing scientist requests and queries.
The candidate will be an integral part of a small team, focusing exclusively on Research IT scientific data and systems and will contribute to the Research IT portfolio of applications.
