BMS Hyderabad is an integrated global hub where our work is focused on helping patients prevail over serious diseases by building sustainable and innovative solutions. This important science, technology, and innovation center will support a range of technology and drug development activities that will help us usher in the next wave of innovation. This position is the Senior Developer within the Commercialization IT – Prescriber Capabilities (CIT-PC) function, responsible & accountable for leading and contributing on viable technical solution design, development/configuration & deployment for Customer Engagement & Channel Orchestration capabilities in accordance with a release management plan. The selected candidate in role would support solution architecture, design & development across investment projects and operational changes for bug fixes/enhancements, as well as innovation projects in support of organizational goals. Key Responsibilities • Partner with the leads of Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A), Omni Channel Capabilities (OCC), Commercialization IT – Prescriber Capabilities (CIT-PC), and the broader IT matrix organization with an app specific focus on solution architecture, design & delivery of new digital capabilities, and a secondary focus on the enablement and simplification of existing digital capabilities to drive effective customer engagement & experience. • Collaborate with IT partners and business teams to understand requirements and use cases. Improve or align requirement outcomes to deliver successful release for new initiatives and enhancements. • Study & transform data science prototypes in support of solution architecture & design for digital capabilities to amplify Customer Engagement via insights-driven orchestration of customer touchpoints & drive “Next Best Action”. • Design machine learning systems; Research & implement appropriate ML algorithms and tools. • Assist in a wide range of operations, such as data processing, access, storage, governance, security, and operations. • Select appropriate datasets and data representations methods to compute distributed processing and storage against datasets. • Develop & manage macro architectures and technology blueprints, system architecture and design documentation. • Responsible for regular coaching and training for depth of knowledge of development team to match technology evolution in line with BMS vision/needs. Set training objectives and ensure knowledge success or certifications. • Run machine learning tests and experiments; Train and retrain systems when necessary. • Perform statistical analysis and fine-tuning using test results. • Extend existing ML libraries and frameworks while keeping abreast of development in the field. • Tactical leader for Proof of Concepts (POCs) with user management, security, data privacy & performance as key considerations to help prove out a potential solution to scale into production. • Demonstrate the ability to identify high value capabilities with clear differentiators when making digital capability platform choices. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement. • Responsible for ensuring that all development functions are successful in their delivery of services to support the digital solutions enablement of the Omni-Channel Capabilities group. Qualifications & Experience Desired Experience • Commercialization (Commercial + Medical) domain & Digital Capability Solutions development and support experience. • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships. Ability to clearly articulate and translate technical elements in business terms. • Expertise on software-development lifecycle methodologies including Agile, Lean, Waterfall etc. • Deep knowledge of data science concepts & expertise in data analysis. • Hands-on experience with ETL tools; Knowledge of BI tools. • Strong experience in Big Data technologies; Hadoop & Kafka knowledge. • Working experience with ML frameworks & libraries; Tensorflow, Spark, Keras, PyTorch, MLPack. • Deep coding expertise in Java, C/C#, Python or R. • Knowledge of customer orchestration platforms like Salesforce Customer 360 or Zaidyn or OKRA- FieldFocus. • Proponent of following all the best practices in every stage of SDLC including consistent architecture practices across deliverables using IT operating model and EA frameworks. • Should be able to closely work with a diverse set of teams spread across different locations globally that would comprise of BMS resources as well as Service Providers. Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field with 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in an IT technical or leadership role. • Understanding of data structures, data modeling and software architecture. • Deep knowledge of math, probability, statistics and algorithms. • Ability to write robust code in Python, Java and R. • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (like Tensorflow, Spark, Keras or PyTorch) and libraries (like scikit-learn). • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to lead & inspire a team of technical resources. • Familiarity with and awareness of the Pharmaceutical Industry. • Demonstrates strong presentation and influencing skills with key partners across functions/regions.
