The Digital Manufacturing Architecture team, part of BMS’ Global Manufacturing IT organization, is seeking a Systems Architect to meet evolving and growing needs for both IT and OT (Operational Technology) sols architecture across the company’s manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will apply their technical and architect’s skills to the design and implementation of innovative manufacturing systems to directly support BMS’ worldwide manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide architecture and design guidance and oversight on assigned solution projects that may impact one or many BMS manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure that all required architecture deliverables are completed according to the project needs, consistent with BMS and team standards, and are clear, complete, concise, and correct.
  • Engage fully in assigned projects; identify and track any technical or design concerns as they emerge and follow through to a documented resolution.
  • Maintain effective relationships with peers across the manufacturing IT organization; learn how things work, understand their near-term and long-term challenges and objectives, develop and share insight regarding future needs and opportunities.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation by participating in and championing architecture team collaboration and review processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires thorough knowledge of the principles and concepts of a discipline and developed knowledge of other related disciplines, typically gained through a university degree and 5-10 years of experience. Actively participates in troubleshooting of routine design problems. Makes decisions that impact own work and other groups/teams. Works under minimal supervision. May act as a technical point of contact. Acts as a functional mentor to more junior team members. May represent architecture team on project issues.
  • Does not have any supervisory responsibility. However, may act as a collaborator or advisor to other team members.
  • Identifies key influencers and builds a network of internal/external relationships. Persuades and negotiates effectively with peers and customers on own work outcomes.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve and grow, balancing performance feedback and career development.
  • Applies a continuous improvement mindset in enhancing efficiency, quality and effectiveness or their work outputs.
  • Able to review multiple sources of data – can effectively organize information to compare and assess short- and long-term implications. Can create a well-developed recommendation and sound actions.
