Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated student to join our Informatics and Predictive Sciences (IPS) group for a 10-week summer internship program. A successful candidate will work with their mentor to develop and test a computational workflow for analyzing internal and external proteomics data to support multiple research programs. The candidate will be responsible for writing and streamlining scripts that perform differential proteomics analyses and visualization of results. The candidate will work in collaboration with the Proteomics team and the Immunology Cardiovascular & Fibrosis (ICF) team to implement the workflow for drug discovery. The candidate will have the opportunities to learn from computer science and biology experts and acquire knowledge about early target discovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop easy to adopt workflow for comparative proteomics analyses under the supervision of the engaging manager
• Write tutorials and vignettes for the workflow with the engaging manager
• Help analyze internal and external proteomics data

Qualifications & Experience

• Currently enrollment in a Masters or PhD program in the life sciences, physical sciences, bioinformatics, data science, or similar field.
• Experience in the programming languages R and/or Python
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Must be able to work full-time for the program duration
• Background in proteomics technologies and pipelines is preferred
