Main responsibility of this position is to provide valuable insights and propose appropriate action plans based on rational/objective evidence from huge amount of data. In competitive credit card industry and payment business, one of the most important challenges is to give customers appropriate service or campaign. To overcome challenges and achieve to enhance business outcome with customer satisfaction, it is critical to dig into current situation, identify problems, find tendency/patterns, and then develop solutions that will help company growing and competing. For example, ideally all campaign should be customized along the next three conditions, first “right customer”, second “right offer” and third “right timing”. To build this fully organized structure is one of our future goals. In order to achieve these, we need to understand customer behavior in depth from large volume and various kinds of data.

To succeed in this position; the ideal candidate needs to be proactive, creative and stay up to date with any kinds of analytical technology.

Responsibilities

  • Data mining or extracting data from large amount of internal data
  • Support business units to create regular BAU reports (data management)
  • Analyze wide range of data (appropriate analytics method/theory/tools/software)
  • Provide analytical insights and propose solutions/strategies to tackle business challenges (including ad-hoc analysis - cover from basic to advanced level)
  • Develop/Deploy predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, and business outcomes

Requirement

  • Minimum 5+ years of extensive background in data management
  • Minimum 5+ years of strong SQL knowledge and skills
  • Ideally 5+ years of experience with statistical software programing languages (such as Python, R,,,etc)
  • Fluent in both business Japanese and English (Written/Spoken)  
  • Advanced statistical and econometrics knowledge
  • Excellent logical/critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Ability to communicate in a cross-functional environment
  • Excellent leadership behavior

The ideal candidate is adept at using large data sets to find opportunities for product and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have strong experience using a variety of data mining/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building, and implementing models, using/creating algorithms, and creating/running simulations. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. They must be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams. The right candidate will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes.
