Job Description

The position will be a part of GCDS, Global Commercial Decision Science team working and collaborating with GCS model owners to automate and streamline model monitoring process, support the regulatory requirement, and drive and deliver on data strategy and analytical projects.

The role offers a highly dynamic and exciting environment, and the incumbent gets to work on Machine Learning predictive models and data science solutions for American Express Card and Non-Card products. They collaborate with partners in other Risk, Commercial Modeling teams, Consumer and Technologies to create world-class capabilities and solutions to support model monitoring regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4 analysts focused on GCS model monitoring and working on data science solutions and initiatives
  • Ensure all models monitoring deliverables conform to Model Governance standards to fulfill regulatory requirements
  • Partner with key stakeholders across teams to understand business priorities, and provide innovative modeling and data strategy solutions
  • Communicate to senior leadership and source feedback
  • Contribute to the strategy and roadmap of various decision science initiatives to help drive most impact

Academic Qualifications

  • Master’s/ Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science or MBA/PGDM with relevant analytical experience
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience in the field of modelling and data science. Deep knowledge of Amex platforms is preferred

Technical Experience

  • Proven track record of driving results with strong thought leadership and complex problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle large datasets using SQL, HIVE, Python or other programming languages
  • Strong knowledge of modeling process, statistical and machine learning techniques
  • Clear, effective written and oral communication skills
