Job Description

Working closely with executive level leaders across Digital/Data Technology and Innovation as well as the Business to advise on data solutions to business problems and opportunities using modern architecture practices. Ensuring the alignment of the data strategy to the broader organizations’ mission, strategy / objectives, capabilities, and processes using industry recognized architectural models and roadmaps. Expanding the company's use of data as a strategic enabler of goals and objectives, realizing global business benefits whilst empowering local service innovation.

  • In collaboration with the technology groups data and analytics leaders, define the data strategy and roadmap, including the data migration strategy, master data management strategy and data and information architecture strategy
  • Work with the Business and Data leaders and Data Architects to review strategies, requirements, and solutions to assess the impact on data and information architecture and ensure consistency and traceability throughout the enterprise architecture
  • Own the governance of data and information architecture principles and policies and apply influence across delivery teams to ensure compliance and adoption of standard methodology.
  • Work with the architecture teams within Global Tech on standards, tooling, and production of on-going Information Architecture assets such as Data Lineage, Lifecycle Management, Quality Monitoring and Metadata Management
  • Work closely with the Head of Enterprise Architecture to build and govern an enterprise architecture framework that underpins the Global Tech strategy and is aligned to business objectives
  • Responsible for development and maintenance of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and approaches for data & analytics domain, architecture governance and tooling, domain leadership role in the Enterprise Architecture Leadership Team to work with other functions of the Enterprise Architecture Function to drive the maturity of the group and ensure delivery of seamless, end-to-end Enterprise Architecture Services.
  • Responsible for steering / driving the most important and complex future planning activities and projects. Involved in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the research / investigation, selection, development, implementation, and use of data & analytics platforms within the organization.
  • This role will define requirements for taxonomy, standards, guidelines, procedures, templates, and tools, and provide a linkage for these components and develop reference & target architectures, patterns, standards, future roadmaps and capabilities within the data domain.
  • Leads efforts to develop and maintain the architectural assets for the domain, sets an architecture direction for the domain that is aligned with business and IT goals
  • Represents enterprise architecture by advocating and sharing knowledge, participates as a member of architectural review boards (ARB) that ensure architecture quality and compliance
  • Establish data architecture roadmaps, reference and target architecture, architectural and design principles, best practices, patters, and standards, oversee alignment to defined data architecture principles and standards
  • Define architecture framework and actual architecture for all solutions, well-integrated, across technologies, maintain/document, and review architecture constantly
  • Work with senior business executives, vendors, and other senior data/technology leaders. Acts as a trusted advisor in identifying long term data domain visions and communicates the value of EA across the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science plus 8+ years of professional experience in data architecture and technology
  • Experience applying Data Architecture and Technology knowledge in designing, implementing, and managing business process area technologies / Products
  • Experience with the Azure data components: Data Bricks, Azure DW/Synapse, Spark, Snowflake, ADL, Power BI; Talend/Streamsets required, along with Machine Learning
  • Experience leading data architecture/Platform teams to solve business problems
  • Experience in technology architecture of cloud-based analytics and/or big data solutions and development of such solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Data Architecture and technology expert with demonstrated expertise in emerging technologies and data technology platforms
  • Experience leading multi-functional teams
  • Experience with data modeling, data cleansing, data warehousing, ETL, data integration and distributed data architecture concepts, knowledge of agile and DevOps development methodology, understanding of solution design, development, and the data life cycle: data acquisition, data quality management, data governance, and metadata management.
  • Ability to create leading and practical data and information architectural principles and disciplines
  • Familiarity with ETL, data pipeline development and data cleansing with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Ability to work in close partnership with other IT functions such as IT, security, compliance, infrastructure, etc. as well as partner closely with business leaders across global tech organizations to maintain the architecture in line with data strategy
  • Able to demonstrate data/technical breadth across Enterprise Data/Technology portfolio.
  • Experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, driving common approaches, delivering sustainable, re-usable solutions using both agile and waterfall. Demonstrated ability to inspire change and challenge the status quo
  • Advanced knowledge of Pharma regulations as well as EU compliance, with a solid focus on GDPR and Data Privacy
  • Understanding of core data technology platform & operational technology in R&D, Vaccine, manufacturing and supply chain environments.
  • Any of the following a bonus: EA (e.g. TOGAF), Data Architect Certifications (Azure, GCP). ITIL / Agile/Product certifications.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to describe complex & abstract technical concepts up to board level.
