The distinct behaviour demonstrated by a Senior Product Director (SPD) is defined by Product Thought Leadership, Innovation, Strategy and People Management & Development. The SPD within RD Tech is accountable for designing and delivering the roadmap for a large scale or complex product set that will improve the user experience for the products within their domain. Each SPD will work collaboratively with senior stakeholders to agree on priorities for their product set and deliver against those priorities.

The SPD Data Analytics, Reporting and Biostatistics role will have ownership and responsibility for a set of products that include:

  • SPACE – Statistical Computing Environment (SCE) – a modern SCE platform leveraging Domino Data Labs on Azure & connecting out to containerised environments such as SAS Viya, R, Python
  • SPACE – RAPIDO – Data visualisation platform to enable study teams to self serve Tables, Forms and Listings +
  • SPACE – WARP – Data Science environment
  • SSDR – environment of all GSK completed trials to enable data transparency and re-use requests, built upon GSKs Market Place Architecture
  • HARP – current Pharma SCE environment, enabling on average 1 submission per day. This will migrate into SPACE SCE
  • LSAF – current Vaccines SCE & Data Management environment. This will migrate to SPACE SCE and Veeva CDMS for Data Management functionality
  • + some specific tools to support defined aspects of business processes

This role will be responsible for enabling our R&D business core operational processes as well broad Quantitative Decision Making culture change.

The role will champion BioStatistics Technology as strategic disciplines and build the critical foundations of a development data-driven enterprise.

The role will collaborate with the RD BioStatistics business in the transformation of business processes through the leveraging of Technology, Digital, Data and Analytics.

This role is recognized as the go to leader and trusted advisor for their product set – removing blockers, working collaboratively and adaptively to constantly meet the needs of their customers and deliver value to GSK.

About R&D Tech, Clinical Solutions

Data is the currency of R&D and it should be created accurately and with appropriate context, secured in a way that facilitates search and aggregation, and facilitates re-use using advanced analytics and machine learning.

The Development Tech team have set out a vision to deliver a unified Data Analytics environment for our patient data and this role is key to delivering those strategic data analytics products that directly underpin the R&D Data Strategy.

As a Senior Product Director, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering strategic innovative solutions that help R&D business own, govern and improve the quality of primary data and associated metadata.

This role will develop depth of expertise and capability within R&D Tech to execute the operational components of the end-to-end data strategy model and to be a trusted and credible partner to R&D in terms of generating and exploiting data to further the R&D mission and strategy.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand business needs and establish enabling Tech strategy and subsequent roadmap
  • Lead technical teams to oversee the full lifecycle management of those Tech products
  • Define and enforce standards of uniformed and repeatable methodology
  • Create Model Risk Management processes and integrate into management tools
  • Manage the team of GSK permanent staff (product Directors / Owners, Engineers, Designers, Facilitators) as well as 3rd party staff (Scrum Masters, Engineers, Testers)
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices esp in the Pharmaceutical BioStatistics Domain
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Provide technical expertise throughout the software lifecycle including design implementation and delivery
  • Ability to collaborate with people in different roles from operations/development all the way up through senior executive management

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Master’s degree with a focus on data tools, process, and analytic reporting (Computer Science or Maths)
  • 5-+ years’ experience in a senior data analytics role in the biopharmaceutical industry with proven experience leveraging technology resources in a complex environment

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • PHD Preferred
  • Mastery of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Command of architecture, design, and business processes
  • Proven ability to influence, communicate and negotiate with all levels of management
  • Strong program and project management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
