As a data engineer (m/f/d), you are our first choice when it comes to connecting, processing and providing data in the context of analytics and AI. In projects, as part of the data intelligence unit, you support our customers from various industries (including financial services, communications, manufacturing, retail) with the following tasks:

• Design and implementation of high-end data pipelines
• Automation, tuning and operation of existing data Pipelines
• Analysis and cleanup of data quality issues
• Advice on selecting the right technologies
• Support with proof of concepts

You will contribute your know-how to our data intelligence community and actively advance topics and innovation together with the other CGI members scout and bring in CGI and our customers. We also think it's great when members are visible in relevant communities outside of CGI and maintain a network.

What you should bring with you

First of all, you should enjoy what you do, have the necessary data skills and the ability to inspire others and present your ideas convincingly. In addition, you should have strong communication skills and be a real team player. You have practical experience in agile working methods and good knowledge of current technologies and IT architectures. You are open to new things and have an eye for change in the age of digital transformation. You should also be able to confidently answer yes to the following points:

• Successfully completed studies in computer science, computer science, data science or comparable training
• Demonstrable (track record and references) practical professional experience in the context of data pipelines as a software engineer, software developer, data Engineer or similar professional field
• Very good knowledge of the programming languages ​​Python, Scala or Java
• Hands-on experience with corresponding cloud services from AWS, Azure or GCP
• Sound experience in data modeling
• Good knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
• In-depth knowledge of data management systems such as E.g. Spark or Hadoop
• Proven experience in event-driven architectures or in dealing with big data
• Familiarity with container platforms (e.g. Docker) and tools in the context of CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins)
