What are you going to do?

As a data scientist at CGI you work on a smart translation of data into useful insights. You are responsible for the technical side where you apply the right methods and can bring data science solutions to production. You also take care of the non-technical side, presenting your findings in a comprehensible manner, coming up with new solutions to existing problems and taking others along with the latest possibilities within data science.

We develop smart applications in which we use large amounts of structured and unstructured data. For example, we use GPS track data for smarter mobility, logging data from consumer equipment to set up smarter marketing and support. We translate video images into better safety systems. We use a variety of data for smart predictive maintenance and new applications in the energy transition. We develop algorithms to support care based on existing patient data. These are just a few examples that indicate well what kind of projects we are working on at CGI.

What are you bringing?

You'll feel completely comfortable navigating massive data sets, with your combination of curiosity, pragmatism and initiative helping you identify and analyze the details that shape our projects. You have a passion for data-informed innovation and you know how to translate your findings directly to customer needs. You want to make an impact with new solutions with your all-round knowledge of data science, and you are driven to go beyond experimenting with data.

You have:

• A completed WO or HBO education with a strong ICT component, computer science or econometrics.
• Preferably at least 3 years of experience in data science.
• Domain knowledge of at least one of the sectors we serve.
• Mathematical and statistical knowledge and experience of machine learning and deep learning algorithms.
• Broad knowledge of data science tools and frameworks, preferably in Python (sklearn, Tensorflow, Pytorch, OpenCV).
• Broad knowledge of visualization tools (eg PowerBI, R-Shiny or Tableau), data management and data warehouse methods and techniques.
• Knowledge of Cloud services is a plus.
• Knowledge of and work experience with DevOps/Scrum/Agile working methods.
• Demonstrable experience in quickly adopting new techniques.
• Result-oriented, flexible and pragmatic attitude, proactive attitude and a team player.
• Excellent consultancy skills (including commercial skills).
• Command of the Dutch language in word and writing.

Where do you end up?

You will work as a data scientist for our North business unit, which covers the North-East Netherlands region. We deal with a diversity of customers in the different sectors we serve, such as government, financial institutions, energy, manufacturing and healthcare.
