Your future duties and responsibilities:

• You design and integrate modern data lake solutions using current technologies on cloud-based platforms.
• You promote the DataOps approach to data engineering to automate data delivery, testing and monitoring and use best practices to increase the efficiency and quality of the data pipeline.
• You develop data sources and select the appropriate services and patterns to prepare data for consumers.
• You implement the model training process, deployment and monitoring using MLOps practices.
• The integration of various data sources and the development of scalable applications are your responsibility.
• Last but not least, you bring together the different areas of data science, QA and security.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Several years of project experience in data engineering projects, ideally with AI elements.
• Sound knowledge of data modeling, as well as experience in dealing with technical storage concepts (Object Storage / Relational Databases / NoSQL) and functional storage concepts (Data Warehouse / Data Lake / Data Lakehouse).
• (Initial) experience with setting up, developing and managing data pipelines for efficiently processing large amounts of data, for example with Python, Jupyter, Java and Apache Spark or Hadoop.
• Practical experience or knowledge of modern data processing technologies and platforms such as Map-and-Reduce, NLP, Anomaly Detection and dbt, Azure AI Studio
• Knowledge of deploying and operating AI models in production environments is an advantage. In any case, you should be familiar with the basic concepts of machine learning and responsible/explainable AI.
• You are fluent in spoken and written English, German (B2) desirable.
