Job Description

CGI is seeking a Data Scientist to join our CGI team! We help clients take an enterprise approach to accelerate and maximize their return on technology investments through relevant applied innovation and digital transformation. You will be a part of our AI and Automation team inside of the Emerging Technologies practice and work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, while individually contributing to project deliverables that meet our clients’ needs. We look for Data Scientists who are passionate about building and deploying machine learning models and who have experience with the full stack end-to-end AI lifecycle.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Engage in meetings with client stakeholders to drive out requirements
  • Analyze business problems and create impactful advanced analytic or machine learning solutions
  • Use data manipulation tools to source, transform, and blend data from multiple different data sources
  • Write clear, concise, well-documented code and perform code review for peers
  • Translate business objectives into quantitative metrics to achieve business goals and drive KPIs
  • Prepare and present solutions to executive audiences
  • Potential regional travel to client sites

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

Machine Learning

  • Ability to explain machine learning techniques and algorithms such as K-NN, Naïve Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
  • Statistical models including experience with regression, classification, clustering, NLP, and computer vision
  • Feature extraction and dimensionality reduction
  • Visualization tools to present your findings and insights including PowerBI, Tableau, Dash, ggplot, R Shiny, matplotlib, D3,js, etc.
    Programming Abilities
  • Python, R, and SQL
  • Custom code to create, train, and deploy machine learning models or advanced analytics
  • Version/source control
    Data Manipulation
  • Data warehouses and file stores such as Snowflake, RedShift, Teradata, BigQuery, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, etc.
  • Ability to ingest, blend, and transform data for modeling inputs including exposure to data storage, ETL, and manipulation tools
  • Unstructured data transformation, such as text documents or images
    Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to communicate about handling multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Data Narration and storytelling with demonstrated ability to present to executive audience
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or equivalent
    Scaling production-facing applications in large enterprise environments
  • Big Data and Cloud Technologies
  • Spark and Data Lakes
  • Deep learning models – neural networks, auto-encoders, etc.
  • Experience in mentoring and career development for junior resources
  • Previous consulting experience
