Job Description

Responsibilities

Duties: Construct business-accessible data science platforms and discrete tools alongside an agile team of data scientists, data engineers, and software engineers. Brainstorm and work on analytics and modeling solutions cross-functionally to identify customized, long-term, and sustainable solutions. Develop clean, tested, scalable, and production-grade machine learning code by using software engineering methodologies to facilitate collaboration and streamline knowledge transfer with other technical teams. Own end-to-end machine learning pipelines. Design, develop, and iteratively improve tools to facilitate reporting and automate data acquisition and analysis. Adapt to account for changes and be able to propose alternative approaches. Work with the larger data science team on the analysis of large data sets to uncover trends, patterns, and insights. Work directly with business stakeholders to identify operational pain points and design scalable and automated technology solutions. Expand PepsiCo’s technical capabilities and help to foster a data-driven culture. Partner with other analytics leaders to foster greater analytical capabilities globally. Mentor junior team members and contribute to a culture where everyone is valued.

Qualifications

Job Requirements: Position requires a Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Operations Research, or related field. Must have working knowledge of the following skills gained through coursework or experience: Python programming and machine learning libraries including scikit-learn, Git, shell script, and SQL; Scala or PySpark; Linear Algebra, Statistics, Probabilities, Mathematical programming, and Optimizations; end-to-end knowledge data science problems, including handling large-scale data with best practices and processing large- and small-scale data; AWS, Azure, Databricks, Google Cloud Platform, and Snowflake data science, and machine learning services; Non-structural data analyses and advanced modeling including text mining and image processing; deep learning frameworks including TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch; on time series analysis and anomaly detection; deploying and managing production-grade Big Data systems; mentoring junior data scientists; web scrapping and machine learning model deployment.

The expected wage range for this position is between $134,000 / year to $180,000 / year.

Location, confirmed job-related skills, and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
